Ubisoft’s uber-promising Steep successor Riders Republic has pumped the brakes on its 2nd September release date, with the extreme sports sandbox now not due until 28th October. It’s not a huge delay, and is justified by an upcoming beta, which should give the French publisher a little more time to act on feedback from its community. Also, it’s worth remembering that coronavirus is still making it incredibly difficult to deploy titles on this kind of scale.
“To ensure we can deliver the best game for all players, we've made the tough decision to delay our release date from 2nd September to 28th October,” a spokesperson said. “This will give us more time to fine tune the experience and give you another chance to jump in before launch and provide feedback.” Sounds like there may be a second beta period before launch, then.
The game was originally due at the beginning of this year, but the pandemic has pushed practically all projects back. It’s also affected co-op shooter Rainbox Six: Extraction, which is now due in 2022.

This game looks like a lot of fun! Don't think it's something I'd pay full price for, but I might pick it up on its inevitable one month sale

I am so hyped for this game! I hate Covid, it's delaying everything...
Ok back to riding my real bike.
God damm it I loved steep been looking forward to this at least it's not delayed into next year
Sleeper hit incoming IMHO.
Late October's not a great month for this, there's a lot of big titles out that month and with big hitters usually out early November this game may get buried, hope not looks fun
DelayStation 5. The best place to Delay. For the Delayers. Delay has no limits.
